Our client, a growing technology company, is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join their team in the Torrington, Connecticut area! In this role, you will handle key accounting tasks and ensure the accuracy of financial records while adhering to established policies and regulations. Responsibilities:

• Participate in month-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are properly documented.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Conduct account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between internal records and financial institutions.

• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.

• Support audits by providing required documentation and addressing inquiries from outside auditors.

• Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.

• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes, including account reconciliation and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and their application in financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools, with the ability to adapt to new systems quickly.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex accounting challenges.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
